Helpful Tips for the Day of Filming

Clothing
It is recommended that you wear comfortable, casual clothing. Solid colors that compliment your skin tone would be best. It is important that you do not wear anything with stripes or intricate patterns.

Setting
We want to set up in an area you are comfortable in. It is best that the couch or chair you sit in NOT be against a wall. Try not to be in front of any windows or mirrors because they will reflect the lighting. We will be setting up light stands in front and in back of you and to your right and left. Our lighting can be adapted to any setting. Please remove any extraneous noise to the best of your ability (i.e. ticking clocks, cell phones, etc.). Any indoor location (at your home or external location) needs to have power outlets available for lighting.

I am healthy, why should I make this video?

This video benefits everyone whether they are sick or healthy, young or old. We never feel comfortable thinking about our mortality, but health issues and accidents can happen suddenly and even if we have time to prepare, many of us still never find the time to pass on our personal legacies. How many of us have visited estate planners or have life insurance for those “what if” moments? You take care of the financial planning; this is the emotional planning for your loved ones when you can’t be there.

Why should we hire a professional?

Nothing quite compares to the finished product from a professional videographer. A proven system of guided questioning, along with top quality equipment and a sound history of experience in videography and editing will guarantee that your video is a truly tangible legacy your loved ones will always cherish.

Where is the best place to show my video?

The most conventional use of the Legacy Video is to have it shown at your Funeral, Memorial Service, or at Family Visitations after your services. After that it will be a keepsake to comfort and inspire your loved ones. The video belongs to you and you decide how it should be seen. In the keepsake DVD box, there will be written instructions of how and where you want this video to be viewed.

How long does the filming last?

Your Love Remembered schedules 2 hours at your location to set up all equipment, do a review, and film the video. The actual filming itself should take no longer then 1 hour. Our professional staff is trained to keep you focused on what you want to say and to listen for clues for follow-up questions if needed. Filming time will vary depending upon package and add-ons purchased.

I’ve never appeared in a video, what should I expect?

As part of the Your Love Remembered method, we will have a pre-taping phone interview to explain the process and answer any additional questions. In the package that arrives before the video shoot, there will be tips on clothing, items to have nearby, and how to talk on camera. The interviewer will be guiding you through the filming process.

What if I don’t know what to talk about in the video?

As part of our process, we will have a pre-taping phone interview with you to review the topics of discussion that you want to include. We also discuss the format and procedures for creating your video. After we schedule the actual taping day, we will send you documentation via E-mail or postal mail reviewing what we discussed, along with a list of questions that will help you create your topics of discussion with the interviewer. During the actual filming, the interviewer is well trained to guide you and bring out your personality. Although you should have notes, it is not a good idea to script your words. You should be speaking from the heart and it should sound natural.

What if I get very emotional making the video?

Any emotions will show your loved ones how connected your feelings are with the importance of what you are saying. If you do need to take a break and compose yourself, our interviewer will give you privacy until you are ready to continue.

What type of equipment do you use?

We use the newest technology in HD professional video cameras. We also set up professional lighting and sound recording equipment at your location.

Where do you film the Video?

Most clients prefer to film in the comfort of their homes, however we will be happy to accommodate special circumstances including Hospices, Long Term Care Facilities, etc. We will work with you to make these arrangements.

What if I want to film at a location away from my home?

The video will only be shot in one location be it your home or external site. We will accommodate you anywhere in Maricopa County. If you wish to film away from your home, you are responsible for making any arrangements for permission or costs to film at that location. Remember, if it is indoors, electricity needs to be available for proper lighting. If it is outdoors, we cannot be held responsible for any weather conditions that may arise. We cannot expose the equipment to rain. If we are forced to relocate for any reason, there will be additional costs for time and transportation. Please read your contract for more details.

What if we need to change locations after we arrive?

Once we arrive and setup at your location, if filming must be moved from its location for any reason, the client is responsible for paying Your Love Remembered an equipment take-down/setup fee of $50.00 plus $0.55/mile for transportation to new location.

What arrangements can I make if I live outside Maricopa County?

If you live outside Maricopa County, arrangements can be made to meet at an appropriate location within Maricopa County to film the video. If you still want us to come to your location. Your Love Remembered will charge $0.55 mile plus $25.00 an hour for travel time / mileage once outside Maricopa County. Flat fees can be determined based on location.

How long will the video be?

Your Love Remembered has multiple packages to choose from. The finished DVD for the Legacy Video Presentation will have a total running time of approximately 15 minutes. Since the purpose of this package is to show it at a funeral or memorial service, the timing needs to be long enough to express your love, advice, and beliefs, while allowing other family and friends to have an opportunity to share their feelings. The Extended Family Keepsake will have approximately 30 minutes of running time to give you a chance to share more of yourself. The running time includes a photo montage.

What if I want a longer video?

If you want a longer video, we offer additional running time in 10 minute increments for the Extended Family Keepsake package only. We also offer one minute increments for all add-on packages (See package list for all prices).

Are discounts available if I purchase more than one package or add-on?

We do offer discounts for both packages for spouses or partners as long as both video shoots are on the same day at the same location. We also offer discounts for buying more than one add-on video. Please see price lists for details.

Can I choose the music in my video?

Most music is copyrighted and there are fees attached for use in a video like this. Your Love Remembered has access to a catalogue of different music styles that will be used as a background soundtrack. You may request your favorite songs for your soundtrack. If you supply the music, it will be incorporated into your legacy video for no charge. If you cannot supply the requested songs we can download them for you for a charge of $1.50 per song. Due to additional licensing restrictions, we must charge you this amount for each extra DVD you request. If you do not choose any music, we are experienced at choosing the right music (at no additional charge) to underscore the words you are saying.

How long until the video arrives?

The video will be sent to you no longer then 30 days from the day we film you.

I bought this for an ill relative, What if that person passes away before the 30 days and I want the video for the funeral?

We do offer expedited editing and delivery service for these types of situations. Arrangements can be made to have the video ready before any formal services for an additional fee.

Can I make copies of the video?

Additional copies are available from Your Love Remembered for $19.99 each. You may not make copies of the final product for personal distribution and may not re-edit the video or manipulate it in any way without written permission from Your Love Remembered.

What happens to all the footage you shoot?

Your Love Remembered will store all unedited raw footage on digital media for one year.

Can I get a copy of this raw footage?

Although everything you share in filming the video is very important to you, we do need to edit it down to a correct presentation. We will edit together the footage that best represents who you are and what you want to express. Editing gives your video a “flow” to document your legacy. For those who want to have a copy of all the unused footage to give a more complete picture of their personality, we can create a DVD of this extra, unedited footage for purchase. This DVD can only be purchased by the subject in the video unless they sign a waiver giving other individuals permission. Your Love Remembered will offer this waiver at time of filming. Please remember this raw footage might include equipment in frame, lighting and sound issues.

What if I misplace my DVD?

We keep backup copies of all finished videos, and can make copies for $19.99 plus tax and shipping.

Can I see samples of your work?

Samples of our work are available online at www.YourLoveRemembered.com. We only show samples from clients who agreed to let us do this.

What if I want to have my spouse appear with me in the video?

Your Love Remembered does offer services to let spouses create a video together. This is available only on the Extended Family Keepsake package (additional charges apply, please see packages for details) and the Personal Videos for Executors, Trustees and Guardian (no extra charge). This is not available on the Legacy Video Package because it should be only about the person who is making it for their funeral, memorial service, or family remembrances.

What other services does Your Love Remembered offer?

Your Love Remembered offers the opportunity to make videos to address individual loved ones directly. Each video is 5 minutes long (longer times available). We also offer services to create Legacy Videos for your children's guardians, your trustees, and executors to express your wishes to them. These are considered add-ons, and can only be purchased as part of The Legacy Video Presentation and the Extended Family Keepsake packages.

Why do you need pictures from me?

Your video includes a photo montage with music. Also, during the presentation, we will superimpose pictures relevant to the topic being discussed. We ask you to supply at least 20-25 pictures to reflect different people and milestones in your life. Try to include pictures of yourself growing up, a picture of your parents, and pictures of yourself with important people in your life.

You may supply the pictures to us physically (please write anything relevant about the picture on the back). On a CD/DVD or other digital media,. please include notes about each picture, including names, relationships and setting.

When will my pictures be returned?

The pictures will be returned with your DVD when it arrives in about 30 days.

Do you include home movies?

We can include short clips to be superimposed in your video, but we can only accept movies in common digital format on a CD/DVD or other digital media. We can not accept movies on VHS or that run on a movie projector.

What forms of payment do you take?

Your Love Remembered accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover card. We also accept debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo. We will accept checks with the proper identification. You may pay online or over the phone.

Why do you charge tax?

Your Love Remembered collects sales tax in accordance with the Arizona Revised Statutes. Arizona State law requires videographers to be responsible for the Transaction Privilege Tax on the total amount of the transaction.

What if I need to reschedule my video shoot?

If you must reschedule, Your Love Remembered must be notified at least 24 hours before the scheduled video shoot time. Rescheduling less than 24 hours will result in a $50.00 fee.

Can this video be used for formal Estate Planning?

This video is not intended for formal estate planning. It is about you sharing your love and wishes for your loved ones and helping them have a representation of who you were. For your protection, you will be signing a waiver (that will be kept in the DVD case) stating that you understand that this video is not intended to be a will or any legal document. In the event of any conflicts with any legal documents, including wills and formal estate planning, such legal and formal documents shall take precedence.
